Sunny fall tournament at the Dragons
Yesterday there was a school tournament in Düsseldorf with the Dragons, where we made a good impression, even though we had a small line-up. The weather was cool, the pitch was low and the sun was high.
There were 7 of our players at the start and together with Cologne we formed teams in all three age groups.
Philipp and Emil were able to gain further experience in the U8s and have already scored a few tries as the feared pair of brothers. Unfortunately, all the games were lost, but at eye level with a constant 4 tries:
RSV Köln / RCBRS vs. Wiedenbrücker TV 4:5
RSV Cologne / RCBRS vs. Düsseldorf Dragons 4:6
RSV Cologne / RCBRS vs. RT Münster 4:5
In the U10s, Mateo and Emil supported the team in Rocky style and also contributed to the many tries scored, a great 2nd place:
RSV Köln / RCBRS vs. Wiedenbrücker TV 5:1
RSV Köln / RCBRS vs. Düsseldorf Dragons I 2:5
RSV Köln / RCBRS vs. Düsseldorf Dragons II 12:1
Leo, Jean-Luc and Wenzel played the U12 games and made it into the tournament:
RSV Köln / RCBRS vs. Wiedenbrücker TV 1:8
RSV Cologne / RCBRS vs. Düsseldorf Dragons 3:4
Here is Alf’s hard-hitting expert analysis:
There were too many high tackles in the game, on both sides.
We held on to the top of the jersey a lot and gave our opponents the opportunity to gain a lot of space. When we had the egg, we usually ran all the way to the outside, where it was easy for the opponent to play us out.
We will take this with us into the next training sessions:
- Train deep tackles
- Practicing consistent support
- Play more about Mitte
And then the next tournament can already come, make a note of December 3, when we’re going to Aachen.
