The day had finally arrived: a Women’s 7s match day took place on our home ground in Bonn. As hosts, we welcomed six teams: Karlsruhe, D\u00fcsseldorf, Mainz-Heusenstamm, SG BiBo, SG DarmMaGi (Darmstadt-Marburg-Gie\u00dfen), and SG Kaiserbr\u00fccken. Bonn competed together with Bielefeld as the joint team BiBo. <\/p>\n
Highly motivated, perfectly prepared, and with an extensive catering offer for all participants, we started a thoroughly successful rugby day. Even a heavy rain shower at the beginning couldn’t dampen the great atmosphere. <\/p>\n
In the first game of the day, D\u00fcsseldorf won against Karlsruhe with a score of 25:12. For SG BiBo, there was a special moment to celebrate: Anne, who supported Karlsruhe as a pool player, scored her first-ever try. <\/p>\n
DarmMaGi then had to concede defeat to Kaiserbr\u00fccken with 7:34, while D\u00fcsseldorf followed up with a 14:0 against Mainz-Heusenstamm in the third game. In BiBo’s first game against DarmMaGi, our joint team showed its full strength and won convincingly with 29:0. Captain Fredda scored the first try, and Melanie immediately followed with the next. In an intense encounter between two strong teams, Ana set a special highlight with another try in her last game. <\/p>\n
Karlsruhe then won 27:7 against Mainz-Heusenstamm, before BiBo narrowly lost to Kaiserbr\u00fccken 10:15 in the last group match.<\/p>\n
In the semi-finals, BiBo met D\u00fcsseldorf and advanced to the final with a convincing 36:12 victory. Kaiserbr\u00fccken won against Karlsruhe with 37:5. In the match for fifth place, Mainz-Heusenstamm won a thrilling game against DarmMaGi with 24:21. Karlsruhe secured third place with a 24:0 victory against D\u00fcsseldorf. <\/p>\n
The final was eventually: BiBo against Kaiserbr\u00fccken. Despite the now intense heat, both teams once again delivered a strong performance. SG BiBo left no doubt and won the tournament with a score of 33:10. <\/p>\n
Winning a match day on your home ground is something very special. The joy over this shared success is all the greater. <\/p>\n
A big thank you to all players, helpers, supporters, and the numerous spectators who made this day possible and unforgettable. We are already looking forward to the next home tournament! <\/p>\n
