Last Saturday, the Lions traveled to D\u00fcsseldorf for an important match against the Dragons.<\/p>\n
For our Lions, this was the penultimate step toward securing a spot in the final.
\nTherefore, despite three previous victories against D\u00fcsseldorf this season, this game was not taken lightly.<\/p>\n
Especially after the defeat against Essen in the last game, the focus was clearly set once again.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the game got off to a mixed start. The Dragons were able to secure the first three points early on with a penalty kick through the posts. <\/p>\n
A little later, the Lions took the lead with a try from Lenny.<\/p>\n
This was unfortunately followed by three tries from the home team.
\nBefore the halftime whistle, Golden managed to score another try and Stean added the conversion. This brought the score to 27-12 for the Dragons after the first 40 minutes. <\/p>\n
The plan for the second half was clear:
\nCreate more pressure on the opponents with a faster defensive line and force errors.<\/p>\n
This adjustment led to a shift in momentum. The Lions were able to break through the opposing defense several times and catch up with multiple tries. <\/p>\n
The final ten minutes were full of suspense. Both teams gave it their all and it was unclear who would win. Bonn briefly took the lead, then D\u00fcsseldorf scored another try, followed by Bonn again.
\nBy the final minute of play, both teams had scored 34 points each.
\nWith one last attack from Bonn, Golden secured his hat-trick with a try and sealed the away win for the Lions. <\/p>\n
The final score was 39-34 for the Bonn Lions.<\/p>\n
