On 18.10. the Pandas traveled to D\u00fcsseldorf to compete in the second tournament of the season together with SG partner Bielefeld. As there were numerous commitments, three players were even able to support the RGH as pool players.<\/p>\n
The first game against SG Mainz-Heusenstamm got off to a sleepy start, with the ladies conceding two tries in the first half. In the second half, the opponents were also able to capitalize on a moment of inattention when handling the ball and then put it away again after a turnover. Unfortunately, an injury on the part of SG Bielefeld-Bonn (BiBo) led to a brief interruption to the game. Despite this, SG BiBo then gained the momentum on their side and scored two more tries: Fredda won a turnover and finished off this sequence, which was well worth seeing thanks to good support runs, with the try himself. Shortly afterwards, the ball was open – Jesse switched quickly and ran unhindered into the field. The final score was 15:12 in favor of SG Mainz-Heusenstamm. However, as they were playing out of position, the match was scored 25:0 in favor of SG BiBo.<\/p>\n
In the second game, the SG faced Karlsruhe SV. The first try was scored after a quick penalty kick for SG: Malin was able to lay off on the outside, but unfortunately the try was not scored. This was followed by a number of counter-attacks before Leonie was served from the outside and was able to leave the defense standing. The increase was not successful here either. The final score was 24:10 for Karlsruhe SV.<\/p>\n
The third match was one of the semi-finals of the tournament and their opponents were SG Darmstadt-Marburg-Gie\u00dfen. The game initially developed on an equal footing before the opponents took advantage of a mistake in defense to score the first try of the game. However, this was quickly replied to – Leonie ran back into the field from the outside. The score at half-time was 5:5 and everything was wide open for the second half. First, Bielefeld-Bonn got back into the game: they won back their own kick-off and, after some lovely phase play, Sina was able to get the ball over the touchline and increase the lead. After strong phases, however, the opponents were able to score the next try and the score was 12:10 in favor of Bielefeld-Bonn. However, the opponents scored another try with their last action, so that the final score was 12:17 – a bitter defeat for SG BiBo.<\/p>\n
In the final game of the day, the opponents were once again Karlsruhe SV, who dominated the first half despite a valiant fight from Bielefeld-Bonn and scored two tries. The ladies continued to put up the best possible resistance in the second half, but had to concede further tries. However, the last points belonged to SG BiBo: Fredda took advantage of a free kick after the opponents failed to kick off and scored her next try, but unfortunately the try was not scored. The final score was 5:27.<\/p>\n
The tournament ended in fourth place overall – a great result that shows that the team is continuing to improve and the SG is growing closer together.<\/p>\n
Melanie (Bielefeld) was awarded the “Pass of the day” for a remarkable pass that led to a try, Sina (Bonn) received the “Hammer” for remarkable tackles and Fabienne (Bonn) was named “Panda of the day” for many successful carries and a strong defensive performance.<\/p>\n
As always, thanks go to the coaches for their great support and to the supporters who came along to support the ladies with a lot of effort and great posters. The time until the Autumn Cup in Marburg on 01.11. will be used to correct some of the errors that have been identified.<\/p>\n
