Summer, sun, beach – many people still have that in their luggage from their summer vacation.<\/div>\n
What do you do on the beach? Exactly, playing rugby. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
On this beautiful Saturday, we set off with a small delegation of youth players to travel to Trier for the beach rugby tournament.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The tournament was organized by the rugby department of FSV Trier-Tarforst e.V. on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Trier Rugby. www.rugby-trier.de<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is a completely new experience for our players, but together with the team from Heidelberger Ruder Klub it will be shared accordingly.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As soon as you warm up in the sand, you can see on some faces that something is going on here.<\/div>\n
The pitches are small, but the game is only 5 vs. 5. The game is more like 7s rugby, fast and you can decide the game with the right pass. Speed in the sand costs a lot of energy and after 2 to 3 attacks the players have to make substitutions. <\/div>\n
There are various substitution strategies, from individual to all together.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
There were interesting encounters with the other teams at eye level. All HRK and RCBRS players put in a great performance together, unfortunately it wasn’t enough for a trophy and there were such great trophies, but next summer is coming and we will be back on the beach. <\/div>\n
