The DM 2024 took place in Heidelberg, where 8 teams competed for the title of German champion.
\nTouch Bonn and Touch Colonia joined forces for this major competition.
\nWith 13 players initially registered, there was great optimism and excitement in the ranks.
\nHowever, some unfortunate injuries and illnesses meant that we could only field a team of 10.
\nWhen the big day arrived, the team was excited, even if some (especially the author) were not fully awake yet.
\nWe were drawn into the same group as Frankfurt, Berlin Black and a mixed team from Hamburg, Munich and Bremen.
\nAs a development team, we unfortunately lost all our games in the group.
\nNevertheless, the quality of the touch game we showed was very good and we improved as a team in every game.
\nIn the round of 16, we faced Stuttgart – a team that the team from Bonn seem to play against in every tournament.
\nThe spectators witnessed a real battle in which Bonn\/Colonia won the only victory of the tournament: 8:4!
\nThe Plate final was a rematch against Frankfurt.
\nOur small team was visibly tired and after another hard-fought game, Touch Bonn and Touch Colonia finished 6th in Germany for 2024.
\nWell done to the players from Hamburg and Munich who supported us throughout the day and for the cohesive team performance, which was superbly coordinated by French coaching guru JC.
\nAnother year of touch tournaments in Germany is coming to an end and we are already looking forward to next year!
\nOh yes, the author somehow also won the male MVP!
