The plan was for a day of training, games, fun and, above all, community building.
Starting with a round of introductions and a proper warm-up, including extensive stretching, we then moved on to smaller strength exercises, skill and reaction games. In the course of this, one of the 20-kilo “babies” was christened Thorsten and named both the lucky charm of his group and the mascot of the day.
A short breather was taken before the subsequent agility exercises due to the temperatures. From there, the team moved on to the first standard situation drills, where good cooperation and communication between the players of the different teams was once again evident. This was followed by a long break, during which the first souvenirs were unpacked and eaten.
After the break, the players were divided into playing positions to practise more specific aspects. The forwards worked on their scrums, while the backline practiced passing and speed scenarios again.
At the end of the training, a few rounds were played without contact in order to put what had been practiced into practice. The players showed good cooperation, team spirit and, above all, enjoyed the game.
While they were still stretching after a successful training session, the water slide was already set up on the slope down from the club, which was subsequently used extensively. After everyone had showered and eaten, the day’s awards were presented. First and foremost, Clara (Pandas) was named People’s Choice with approving applause. Anna, also from the Pandas, received the award for Most Improved, andAnnika (P andas) was named Panda of the Day. Tess (Mainz) received a well-deserved Hammer of the Day, and Laura (Mainz ) was awarded the title of MVP for her excellent sporting performance. The Pandas took advantage of the awards ceremony to bid an official farewell to their coach Marcel Langhans, whose position as head coach will be taken over by Golden Ibe next season.
Finally, the evening was rounded off with games, a quiz and karaoke in the clubhouse.
A big thank you to the coaches, our guests from Bielefeld and Mainz, as well as everyone who helped and supported us behind the scenes and on the sidelines!

Text: Elisabeth (Ella) von der Eltz
Pictures: Anke Rolfes

Report from the Panda Training Camp 2024 On Saturday the 22.06. the players of the Painless Pandas gathered together with guests from Bielefeld and Mainz for the Panda training camp.
