HAKA Rugby Global Camp Whitsun 2024 in Bonn<\/b><\/h1>\n
This camp was a long time coming and everyone in our club was nervous and didn’t really know what to expect.<\/div>\n

We advertised the event with<\/div>\n

  • Get to know the Haka tradition<\/li>\n
  • Improve rugby skills<\/li>\n
  • Strengthen team spirit<\/li>\n
  • Have fun and good experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    What was it like?<\/div>\n

    AMAZING – AMAZING – AMAZING<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a better word to describe this weekend.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    As soon as the participants register, everyone is greeted with a special handshake (clap clap clash snap), accompanied by groovy music. Everyone’s nervousness fades, including ours.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Speaking of participants, we had great guests in Bonn, Cologne, Worms, Heidelberg, Hanover and the Hanseatic city of Wismar. Thank you again for your willingness to travel.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    In the end, there were almost 40 participants, aged 7 – 17, who all started the first sessions on HAKA tradition and rugby skills in their new outfits.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    There was a balanced, varied program every day, in which none of the advertised elements were neglected.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Practicing a bit of HAKA, rugby training, as a team ripping off the parents, supervisors and coaches in a rugby dodgeball variant. Wait for the next day, we demand revenge. I forget who won, but it was great fun for everyone.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    While the supervisors and parents on the sidelines philosophize about blue, red, yellow, purple and gold pants, the participants get ready for the next call “Dad, Mum, Christian, Ava, come play…”.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    There it was, the ultimate battle: young versus mature<\/div>\n
    Instead of tackling, touch with 2 hands and then the action started; 40 children and teenagers against probably just as many adults.<\/div>\n
    Great passes, feints, at least one shoelace-loosening scrum, it was all there.<\/div>\n
    The result: Here I can remember exactly, there were three tries!<\/div>\n
    Unfortunately, after the equalizer, we (adults) were unable to stop the young player who took off at the speed of light, even with all our strength and experience.<\/div>\n
    Well done!<\/div>\n

    Troy, Cieran and Keenan, a big thank you to you, you have given our children and us an indescribably wonderful weekend.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    The end? No, there was something else. Last but not least, all the children and young people captivated us with their Maori culture and presented the HAKA they had learned.<\/div>\n
    <\/div>\n
    Pure goose bumps, I can only recommend everyone to take part or watch, it’s worth it.<\/div>\n
