In some countries there are said to be four seasons in one day. We had summer in D\u00fcsseldorf in April.
\nThe Dragons D\u00fcsseldorf in TuS D\u00fcsseldorf 1895 e.V. had invited us to the school tournament and we gladly accepted the invitation.<\/p>\n
There was also good support from coaches, supervisors, parents, siblings and friends.<\/p>\n
We were in a good position to form a playing partnership with the Rugby Sport Verein K\u00f6ln e.V. in all age groups:<\/p>\n
U8 2 players
\nU10 4 players
\nU12 7 players<\/p>\n
Our teams were able to compete against the hosts and teams from Rugby Club Aachen e.V. and Bonn Rugby Union Club e.V..<\/p>\n
As I have refereed several U8 matches myself, I was unfortunately unable to attend the first part of the tournament as a spectator.<\/p>\n
But after the U8 players had played their placement matches, I was able to enjoy the pleasant temperatures, the sunshine and watch the last matches of our U10 and U12 players.<\/p>\n
In the last U10 match, our players once again gave almost everything, more on that later. Some of the triathlons were worth seeing, and the parents were pleasantly surprised by their children’s performance.<\/p>\n
As the older players also play longer games, the last games of the U12s had not yet all been played and our U10s set off to cheer on the U12s. But things turned out differently: during the warm-up before the last game, there was a sudden flurry of activity. The children came and said we needed jerseys. (Yes, I know, we need a new jersey set, who wants to become a sponsor).<\/p>\n
What was going on?<\/strong> How is that supposed to work?<\/strong> The joy and motivation was written all over everyone’s faces, finally having their own team at the start.<\/p>\n The score was completely irrelevant in the end and nobody can remember. \nWell, our last opponent no longer had a team due to injury. This gave rise to the idea of playing against Cologne.<\/p>\n
\nSure, U12 and U10, Cologne and we each have enough players for a small 9-a-side rugby team.

\nIt was a wonderful moment to come together as a team.<\/p>\n
