At the weekend there was top-level touch rugby on show in Cologne. The German Mixed Open (MXO) and Senior Mixed Team had invited to a friendly\/preparation tournament for the upcoming World Championship in July. In addition to the two German teams, mixed open teams from Belgium, Switzerland and France as well as a Barbarians team with current national players from the Netherlands also made the trip. For the players of the MXO team, it was the last opportunity to demonstrate their skills before the squad is reduced to the final number of 16 players (+ 2-3 backups). Ian and Fredda from the RCBRS are currently still in the running.
\nThe weather conditions put playing skills to the test once again, as the weekend offered a wild mix of rain, wind, sun and hail with temperatures ranging from 2 – 10 degrees. But playing in the wet also needs to be practiced – after all, the World Cup is taking place in England this year.<\/p>\n
Finally, congratulations to Haik, who is the proud owner of his Level 2 Referee Badge after this weekend.<\/p>\n
